Hand painted oil reproduction of a famous Gustav Klimt painting, Signora con Ventaglio. Today it has been carefully recreated detail-by-detail, color-by-color to near perfection. Gustav Klimt (1862-1918) was one of the most innovative and controversial artists of the early twentieth century. Influenced by European avant-garde movements represented in the annual Secession exhibitions, Klimt's mature style combines richly decorative surface patterning with complex symbolism and allegory, often with overtly erotic content. This work of art evokes the same emotions and beauty as the original. Onlookers will experience a range of emotions when they gaze upon this beautiful but bittersweet work by Gustav Klimt. Signora con Ventaglio, known in English as Lady with Fan, is one of two paintings Klimt was working on in February 1918 when he tragically suffered a fatal stroke. In this colorful painting, you can see the influence of the Japanese art he had been studying, with the subject's kimono-style dress and Asiatic ornaments in the bold background. Klimt was instrumental in the Art Nouveau moment, but experimentation is what truly drove him. After his highly successful Golden Phase, he turned to impressionist landscapes and Japanese art to fuel this drive, and was on the verge of his next radical shift at the time of his death. This stunning gallery-art reproduction captures a glimpse of what could have been.
